Welcome to Hamama, where growing fresh, nutritious food at home is simple, fun, and accessible to everyone.
We believe eating more fresh greens shouldn't require a backyard, gardening experience, or hours of work. That's why we created an easy indoor growing system that lets you grow delicious microgreens right on your countertop.
With Hamama, all you need is water, a little indoor space, and a few days of patience. In about 7–10 days, you can harvest fresh microgreens and add them to salads, sandwiches, smoothies, bowls, and more.
Our Story
Hamama was born from a passion for nature, healthy food, sustainability, and making home growing accessible to more people.
Our founders, Camille Richman and Dan, met through their shared interest in urban agriculture and technology. They explored ways to bring the benefits of indoor farming into everyday homes without the complexity and equipment associated with traditional hydroponic systems.
After researching, experimenting, and talking with potential growers, the team focused on microgreens — a crop that grows quickly, requires little space and light, and can provide fresh flavor and nutrition throughout the year.
That journey led to the creation of Hamama's innovative Seed Quilt technology and countertop growing kits.

We know that not everyone considers themselves a gardener.
In fact, many of our customers tell us they are notorious plant killers.
That's exactly why we designed Hamama to be different.
Our system removes much of the guesswork from growing microgreens. Simply fill the tray with water, soak the Seed Quilt, and let nature do the rest.
Within days, your seeds begin to sprout. In approximately one week, your fresh greens are ready to harvest.

The Hamama Seed Quilt
At the heart of our growing system is the Seed Quilt®.
Our Seed Quilts combine seeds with growing materials that help make the process simple and consistent. They use coconut fiber and other food- and agriculture-use materials designed to support the plants as they grow.
After harvesting, the Seed Quilt materials are compostable in appropriate green food and yard waste systems.
The result is a convenient growing experience that lets you enjoy fresh microgreens without traditional soil-based gardening.
Fresh Microgreens, All Year Long
Microgreens are young versions of leafy greens, vegetables, and herbs.
They're small, but they're packed with flavor and can provide a convenient way to add more greens to everyday meals.
Hamama offers more than 10 varieties, ranging from mild broccoli and cabbage to spicy daikon radish, wasabi mustard, kale, wheatgrass, clover, and specialty varieties. Most varieties are ready to harvest in approximately 7–10 days.
Because Hamama grows indoors, you can enjoy fresh greens throughout the year regardless of the season or outdoor weather.

A Simple Growing Experience
Our growing process is intentionally straightforward:
1. Fill the Tray
Add water to your Hamama growing tray.
2. Soak the Seed Quilt
Place your Seed Quilt into the tray and let it absorb the water.
3. Let It Grow
Give your microgreens a little time and watch them grow.
4. Harvest
In approximately 7–10 days, your greens are ready to enjoy.

Sustainability has been part of the Hamama mission from the beginning.
Our growing system is designed to reduce the barriers associated with traditional gardening while helping people grow food in a small indoor space.
We use reusable growing trays and compostable Seed Quilts, and Hamama has also worked toward plastic-free shipping and packaging to reduce unnecessary single-use plastic.
Growing indoors also means your plants don't need pesticides or fertilizers as part of the Hamama growing process, while keeping your greens protected from many of the outdoor pests and weather conditions that can affect traditional gardens.
Non-GMO Seeds
We carefully select seeds for our growing kits.
Hamama states that its seeds are non-GMO, with many varieties also being organic. The company continues working toward expanding its certified organic offerings.
We want customers to feel confident knowing what they're growing and putting on their plates.
